Drag on the cloth to aim. Set spin on the cue ball and lift the cue with the elevation rail beside it. Hold Shoot or Space and release to strike; on desktop you can also hold the right mouse button and let go.
Eight-ball, called shots. A legal break pockets an object ball or sends four object balls to rails. Groups are assigned by the first legally called pot after the break. Hit your group first, then reach a rail or pocket a ball. Call ball and pocket every shot; slop does not count.
Fouls give the other player ball in hand: click to place the cue ball anywhere on the playing surface. Clear your group, then call the eight and its pocket. An early or incorrectly pocketed eight loses.
Casual eight-ball. Pocket your group; slop counts. Call the pocket only for the eight. Fouls give ball in hand.
Nine-ball. Hit the lowest ball first. A legal nine wins; three consecutive fouls lose. The incoming player chooses after a push-out.
Ten-ball. Hit the lowest ball first; call a ball and pocket. An uncalled ten is spotted.
Straight pool. Call each shot. Each legally pocketed ball scores a point; first to 50 wins.
Snooker. Alternate reds and colours, then clear the colours in order. Fouls award points to your opponent.
Practice mode lets you move balls, retake shots, and clear or rerack the table.
